Simon Wilde was born in Sydney in 1970 and studied Arts Law at the University of Sydney. After University he lived in West Africa for two years. Throughout his life he has travelled extensively and these adventures have informed his approach to art and its underlying aesthetic. His artistic career began in 2009. His early works were manuscripts of poetry mounted on steel with photography and conceptual, poetry based installations. Gradually his practice evolved into the purely abstract paintings which comprise his current practice. Simon has engaged in a constant process of technical innovation to develop a unique body of work.
