Bacillus represents the complex interplay of microscopic life. Its monochromatic colour scheme evokes the sterility of the laboratory and the clarity of water. These understated elements are in dramatic tension with the riotous and intricate patterns in rust and enamel. These patterns were intentionally caused by the artist provoking chemical reactions on the surface of the steel substrate during the creation of the work. Bacillus has been finished in a clear epoxy enamel, ensuring the durability and longevity of the artwork.
